This one was designed as a tribute to the cleaning ladies of the Ayurvedic Hospital in Coimbator where I stayed for a detox programme in March 2004. Every day a different graceful lady would draw a different Mandala on the pavement outside our room where there was a statuette to the God of Healing, Lord Dhanwanthari. Early every morning a young man with a hose pipe would wash it away signifying lack of attachment and the use of our creative powers to worship God who gave the world to us.
As colours are overprinted on top of base colours, it can only be printed on very pale base colours such as white or lilac, although I have designed a ‘stained glass’ colour way for black and navy (see below).
